Hotel Le Chelsea: An Urban Oasis

Positioned directly across from the verdant expanse of Chelsea Waterside Park, this 17-story boutique hotel transforms a 10,000-square-foot assemblage into a landmark of elevated hospitality. The project utilizes a U-shaped massing, adhering to Chelsea’s "tower regulation” zoning to maximize panoramic, unobstructed views of the Hudson River and the lower Manhattan skyline.

Encased in a refined glass curtain wall, the structure is organized around a serene, elevated courtyard - a "bamboo forest" oasis featuring cascading water elements and intimate planted parterres. This design strategy creates a duality of experience: a tranquil interior retreat that serves as an antithesis to the bustling West Side, while offering 120 guest rooms that blur the boundary between the natural landscape of the park and the vibrant, industrial aesthetic of the Chelsea neighborhood.

Key Architectural Highlights

  • Contextual Response: Directly dialogues with Chelsea Waterside Park and the Hudson Riverfront.
  • Site Strategy: Assembles two lots into a single cohesive 17-story U-shape, creating a rare, private and quiet courtyard.
  • The "Oasis" Concept: A landscape-driven design featuring a bamboo forest and "flowing water" designed to calm guests, mimicking the "botanic experience" of the newly renovated park.
  • Luxury View Orientation: Prioritizes sunset-facing rooms overlooking the Hudson River.
